Charter for hospitalised patients
A document issued by the Ministry of Health, known as the "Hospitalised Patients' Charter", sets out the rights of people being cared for in a health establishment.
The aim of the charter
The purpose of this charter is to inform all patients admitted to a healthcare establishment of their fundamental rights, in accordance with the laws in force, in particular the law of 4 March 2002 on patients' rights and the quality of the healthcare system. It applies to all patients, whether in hospital, outpatient, emergency or home care.
The charter takes account of the obligations necessary for the smooth running of the establishment, as set out in its internal regulations.
A summary of the charter is given to each patient on admission, along with a welcome booklet, a discharge questionnaire and a pain management contract.
The full document is available in pdf format or on request from the reception desk. You can also ask to consult the Braille charter.
