Access to your medical records is a right. It can be consulted by several people.
Right of access to your medical file
Article L.111-7 of the Public Health Code and the Order of 5 March 2004, amended by the Order of 3 January 2007.
Under certain conditions laid down by law, you may have direct access to medical information about you. The request must be made in writing and addressed to the Director of the clinic:
- By yourself
- Or by the person with parental authority if this concerns you (you then have the option of objecting to this request by writing to the doctor).
- Or by your guardian if this concerns you
- Or by your beneficiary in the event of your death (the reason for the request must be specified).
- Or by your doctor, designated by one of the above persons. This request must specify the medical service concerned and the dates of hospitalisation. A copy of both sides of a valid identity document is required.
The information requested in this way cannot be made available to you before a minimum lead time 48 h after your request, but they must be communicated to you within eight days.
However, if the information is more than five years old, this period is extended to two months.
- If you choose to consult the file on site, consultation is free of charge.
- If you wish to obtain a copy of all or part of the information in your file, you must pay the cost of reproduction and postage (if you wish to have it sent to your home address).

The Dossier Médical Partagé (DMP) is a digital health record that stores and secures your health information: treatments, test results, allergies, etc. It allows you to share this information with the healthcare professionals of your choice, who need it to treat you.
In My Health, you can :
Saving documents
Consult documents, including those supplied by its professionals and health institutions
Be notified and consult access logs for healthcare professionals and establishments establishments
Define the conditions under which healthcare professionals can access your healthcare documents (hide all or part of all or part of the documents in his DMP, block access by healthcare professionals, including access in an emergency).
Healthcare professionals are obliged to include in their patientsʼ DMPs all therapeutic and diagnostic documents relevant to their health (article L.1111-15 of the CSP). You will be informed when your DMP is being populated, and you may object if there is a legitimate reason.
