Otology and deafness

At Hôpital Privé Sud Corse, a number of surgical procedures can be carried out by our specialists to improve and treat hearing disorders:

✔ Myringotomy with transtympanic aerators: insertion of small drains to treat chronic serous otitis, particularly in children
✔ Tympanoplasty : repair of the eardrum in the event of perforation, to restore hearing and prevent infection
✔ Otosclerosis surgery : replacement of the stapes (one of the ossicles in the ear) with a prosthesis to improve sound transmission in cases of progressive deafness
✔ Hearing implants : fitting a cochlear implant or a bone-anchored implant to compensate for severe or profound deafness
✔ Canaloplasty : enlargement of the external auditory meatus in cases of congenital or acquired narrowing
