Pneumology
Pneumology Hôpital Privé Sud Corse
The bronchial fibroscopies carried out in the hospital are a major tool for respirologists, enabling them to make a precise diagnosis and perform therapeutic procedures that minimise invasiveness for patients.
✔ Diagnosis and assessment of respiratory pathologies
Diagnostic bronchoscopy: visualisation of the airways to look for an abnormality (tumour, stenosis, infection, inflammation).
Bronchial and transbronchial biopsies: tissue samples taken for histological analysis in cases of suspected bronchopulmonary cancer or atypical infections.
Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL): sampling of fluid from the alveoli for microbiological, cytological or immunological analysis, particularly in interstitial diseases or lung infections.
Bronchial brushing: sampling of cells for cytological analysis if cancer is suspected.
Microbiological sampling: aspiration of secretions to test for bacteria, viruses, fungi or mycobacteria.
